Three Poems

I’ve noticed you let your dog shit
all over the police station and I like that.
I hope your dog shits where he pleases.

The street smells like coriander and clay,
makes me miss my guys. Ha ha,
guys with wives.

Transgender matchmaker said to me,
I thought you wore gloves cuz you have
damaged hands.
I said, I do.

I pray for simple things like Billy Joel.
The street smells like clay and shit.
So good.

Nothing I say to you now can be true forever.
Maybe what we want is cheaper –
love, phonetics, learning to eat.
I’m taking care of myself, Appaloosa.
I abide by the insanity of your
attention.
